In this paper the behaviour of centrifugal forces in neutron stars is discussed. It is demonstrated that centrifugal force inversion can occur for neutron stars, although most realistic equations of state do not allow this to happen. The general behaviour of centrifugal forces and angular momentum transfer for very massive and compact neutron stars (with and without centrifugal force inversion) is presented graphically. This leads eventually to an innovative treatment of the glitch phenomenon in neutron stars.
