
Oscillator strengths of the a 6 D ‐‐ y 6 P o UV8 multiplet in Fe II

We have calculated oscillator strengths for the J ‐‐ J ′ levels of the a 6 D ‐‐ y 6 P o UV8 multiplet in Fe ii using configuration interaction wavefunctions. Our result for the 9/2‐‐7/2 transition is in excellent agreement with the value recently derived from observations. Our results for all the transitions show a much improved agreement with recent experimental work compared with previous calculations.
