Summary We again consider the problem of recovering the Earth’s internal magnetic field B knowing its intensity | B | at the Earth’s surface and the location of the dip equator. In the present paper we focus on estimating the difference between two solutions B obtained from imperfect data. We explicitly estimate this difference and show that it converges to zero when the errors on | B | and on the location of the dip equator E both tend to zero.
