e-learning is a blanket term which has expanded to incorporate any form of electronic technology in education. A number of estimates suggest that the worldwide e-learning industry is estimated to be worth close to US$50 billion1. This article takes a brief personal look at the history of e-learning and tries to figure out where we are going in the years ahead.
