This Biochemical Society Focused Meeting was held jointly with the Wellcome Trust Centre for Cell-Matrix Research, University of Manchester, to mark the award of the Jubilee Lectureship to Dr Erkki Ruoslahti (Burnham Institute, La Jolla,CA, USA) in recognition of his pioneering discoveries in the extracellular matrix and cell-adhesion fields.
