8th UK-NL Nitrogen Cycle Meeting; Newcastle upon Tyne, UK: 29 August–1 September 2002

The 8th UK-NL Nitrogen Cycle Meeting was held in the School of Cell and Molecular Biosciences, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, and was sponsored by the Biochemical Society as a special interest meeting linked to the Bioenergetics Group. A total of over 50 delegates from the UK,The Netherlands, Spain and Denmark, all of whom shared a common interest in the microbial nitrogen cycle, attended the meeting. The Biochemical Society sponsorship provided funds to invite Professor Valley Stewart, University of California, Davis, USA, to be our guest and present the Biochemical Society Special Lecture.
