The first example of exchange coupling between the toroidal moments in chiral heterometallic CuII/DyIII 1D polymers built from alternating trinuclear Dy3 SMM-building blocks and chiral copper(II) complexes is reported. A very strong toroidal magnetization can be induced by applying a magnetic field at low temperature in single-crystals of these compounds.status: publishe
