The author has described the normal as well as the abnormal behaviour from a psycho-analytical point of view. He has discussed the neurotic and 'psychotic behaviours in clear, comprehensive and methodical manner with frequent illustrations of cases. The main psycho-analytical principle as well as the psychoanalytical interpretations of cases are made so simple and easy that the reader will have no difficulty to grasp them. Twenty experiments with laboratory animals have been interposed between twice as many clinical case reports to show the points of similarity between the experimental and clinical cases. The similarity is apparent in some cases but in others it is rather farfetched. The inherent and environmental conditions acting on the human mind cannot be imitated in the laboratory.
