An Al−N cluster containing an assembly of six ferrocenylacetylene moieties has been synthesized and structurally characterized. The electrochemical behavior of this compound shows a single reversible oxidation wave, which suggests the electrochemical equivalence of the ferrocenylacetylene moieties.
