This research is aimed at investigating the use of a novel technique for monitoring non-linear transient accelerometer data using Recurrence Quantification Analysis (RQA) for use in auxiliary aircraft hardware health monitoring. Identification of premature failure using the RQA technique is explored and investigated for its use in preempting hardware failure of auxiliary fuel pump and forming a new basis for a Mean Time Before Failure (MTBF) for these devices. Authors assume that use Recurrence quantification analysis its combination with traditional methods could indicate early warning of incoming faults and more precise set of MTBF. The question whether the development of this technique is applicable across other aircraft parts may be offered.
