Announcing the launching of Toxicology Reports

Welcome to Toxicology Reports, a new toxicology journal or the twenty-first century. The new journal is completely pen Access and online-only, and covers a broad range f topics in the fields of toxicology research and clinial sciences. Toxicology Reports is published by Elsevier, ne of the leading academic publishers worldwide, with large portfolio of toxicology journals. The first quesion one may ask is: Why another toxicology journal? irst, we believe that advances in fields such as genomics, ranscriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and various igh-throughput screening methods are generating some ypes of data that may not fit in with the emphasis of many f the existing journals focused on novelty and mechanisic toxicology. This does not mean that Toxicology Reports is ot interested in mechanism. Rather, we acknowledge that mportant datasets are being generated that may provide etails on toxicological processes and responses that add to ur knowledge, but may not necessarily provide or impact irect mechanistic insight. Second, many studies may yield esults, that while negative or descriptive, provide needed nformation to the scientific community that can help guide uture research and ultimately move science forward.
