Vehicles on roads are excited to vertical vibrations and velocity fluctuations as the consequence of the random up and down of road surfaces. For resonant car vibrations in case of critical velocities effected by the constant driving force, the one-modular velocity density bifurcates into bi-modular distributions with two peaks; i.e. the car velocity is fluctuating around two mean values with permanent jumps between both. These effects are derived by means of quarter car models and second order stochastic roads which are non-linearly coupled to the along and across dynamics of the vehicle
