A new absorber with a transparent window in L-band is proposed. The structure consists of dielectric slabs, loss FSS sheet and metal FSS sheet. The loss FSS sheet comprised of impedance film square-loop array with resistance R. By replacing the back-metal layer of traditional absorber by the low-pass frequency selective surface, absorber with a transparent window in L-band is designed. Reflection and transmission characteristic of absorber planar are measured. The measurement results shown that at least 10 dB reflection reduction in X-band and about -1 dB transmission in L-band are realized.
