Pt–MWCNTs nanocomposites are found to be an excellent and efficient catalyst to promote one-pot and three-component coupling reaction of isatoic anhydride, aldehyde and ammonium acetate or primary aromatic amine to produce 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-one derivatives under ultrasound irradiation. This novel method has the advantages such as short reaction times, convenient manipulation, excellent yields and the use of effective catalyst
