The present book includes extended and revised versions of papers selected from the Third International Conference on Model-Driven Engineering and Software Development (MODELSWARD 2015), held in Angers, Loire Valley, France, during February 9–11, 2015. The purpose of the International Conference on Model-Driven Engineering and Software Development is to provide a platform for researchers, engineers, academicians, as well as industrial professionals from all over the world to present their research results and development activities in using models and model-driven engineering techniques for software development. MODELSWARD 2015 was sponsored by INSTICC (the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication) and co-organized by École Supérieure d’Électronique de l’Ouest (ESEO). MODELSWARD was held in cooperation with ACM SIGMIS – ACM Special Interest Group on Management Information Systems, ACM SIGSOFT – ACM Special Interest Group on Software Engineering, The Open Group – SOA Work Group, The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE), IEICE Special Interest Group on Software Enterprise Modeling (SWIM) and technically co-sponsored by the AIS Special Interest Group on Modeling and Simulation (AIS SIGMAS), IEEE Computer Society (IEEE CS), Technical Council on Software Engineering (IEEE CS – TCSE), and IEEE Technical Committee on Business Informatics and Systems (IEEE CS – TCBIS). The conference received 94 paper submissions from 30 countries, covering all continents. To evaluate each submission, a double-blind review was performed by the Program Committee. After a stringent selection process, 15 papers were published and presented as full papers (30-min oral presentation), leading to a full-paper acceptance ratio of about 20 %, which shows our commitment of offering a high-quality forum to our community. The MODELSWARD program included panels and five invited talks delivered by internationally distinguished speakers, namely: Bran Selic (University of Toronto, Canada), Sébastien Gérard (CEA, France), Marco Brambilla (Politecnico Di Milano, Italy), and Mark van den Brand (Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands), and an invited lecture by Philippe Desfray and Etienne Brosse (SOFTEAM, France). This book contains 24 papers from MODELSWARD 2015, which have been selected, extended, and thoroughly revised. We would like to thank the authors, whose research and development efforts are recorded here for future generations.
