The aim of the study was to investigate the long-term (five years) efficacy of glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibition with abciximab given as an adjunct therapy to coronary stenting in patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI) using the patient cohort of the Intracoronary Stenting and Antithrombotic Regimen-2 (ISAR-2) randomised trial.
