In this issue of CASE, we can see how cardiovascular pathologies can present themselves as atrial fibrillation, pleural effusion, and esophageal dilatation. In all these situations, echocardiography, aided by other modalities, was able to direct the clinician to the correct diagnosis and therapy. Other cases also underlie the diagnostic limits of imaging when multiple conditions have a similar appearance and histology is necessary for the final diagnosis.
