Key Points Question Is the STOP-Bang (snoring, tiredness, observed apnea, blood pressure, body mass index, age, neck size, gender) questionnaire a valid obstructive sleep apnea screening tool for patients referred to sleep clinics in different geographical populations? Findings This systematic review and meta-analysis of 47 studies including 26 547 individuals found that the STOP-Bang questionnaire has adequate sensitivity and diagnostic accuracy for detecting moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea across geographic regions. Meaning These findings suggest that the STOP-Bang questionnaire can be used as a screening tool in different geographical regions for triaging patients suspected of having obstructive sleep apnea who are referred to sleep clinics.
