Key Points Question Is birth by cesarean delivery associated with obesity and type 2 diabetes in adulthood? Findings In this cohort study of 33 226 women, those born by cesarean delivery were 11% more likely to be obese as adults and had a 46% higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes than women born by vaginal delivery. Meaning This study found an association between being born by cesarean delivery and increased risks of obesity and type 2 diabetes in adulthood.
