Most of the components of the of the food index have shown an increase compared with March 2011. The lowest increase was seen on sugar (4.71%) followed by bread and cereals (4.79%), fruit (10.09%), and oil (10.56%). The highest increases of the food index were vegetables (20.69%) followed by dairy products (20.28 per cent), meat (14.75%), and fish (12.49%) while spices and other food products have climbed by 16.50%.
