Various studies have demonstrated abnormal neuropsychological function in boys with the childhood cerebral phenotype of X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy. Not much is known about the cognitive function of neurologically asymptomatic boys with X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy who have normal brain magnetic resonance imaging results.
