Why Your Library Needs a Real Plan for AI
It’s hard to check your email or walk through the campus lately without someone bringing up AI. We’ve moved past the initial shock of "What is ChatGPT?" and into a much trickier phase: trying to figure out how it actually fits into a university without things becoming unmanageable. The reality is that while some people are already using these tools every day, others are understandably hesitant. This gap creates a problem. If we don't have a shared understanding of how to use AI responsibly, we end up with a patchwork of rules that confuse students and leave staff feeling unsupported. Tuesday, April 14, 2 PM (GST), we’re hosting a free webinar to talk about a better way forward. titled: Applying a Framework for Institutional AI Literacy Development. What’s on the Agenda? Here’s what we’ll get into: The growing role of AI in higher education and its impact on teaching, research, and operations The importance of institutional AI literacy for responsible and effective AI adoption Overview of a proven AI literacy framework and how it can be applied in practice Strategies for developing AI guidelines, policies, and governance structures How to empower academic staff and researchers as AI collaborators and leaders Best practices for implementing a sustainable, institution-wide AI literacy strategy Enhancing innovation, accountability, and efficiency through structured AI adoption The goal is to make sure that when everyone uses AI in education, they’re doing it with a solid foundation of knowledge and accountability. Speaker Isaac Tabor Head of Digital Learning, Knowledge E As the Head of Digital Learning, Isaac provides expertise on best practices and current trends in digital learning and strategic oversight. He is chiefly responsible for the ongoing development of KnE Learn, a digital learning environment that works with a broad network of subject matter experts and Knowledge E’s experience in training delivery to provide targeted self-paced training to higher education institutions around the world. Isaac has ten years of professional experience in digital learning and education development initiatives in the secondary and higher education sectors of the UAE, USA, Cambodia, and other parts of South-East Asia. Publisher Agnostic: We work with multiple discovery providers and integrate seamlessly with tools like Libkey or SFX. Full Control: Library administrators can configure our AI’s tone, depth, and refinement strategies. Customizable Experience: Our interface can match your institution’s branding and design. What’s Next: Deep Research We’re not stopping here. Soon, we’ll launch Deep Research features, allowing students and researchers to go beyond article searches.
