We have developed a method of calibration for Bragg grating interrogators that compares the response of the test equipment with a Bragg Grating simulator consisting in a tunable filter and an optical fiber mirror. The obtained simulated wavelength is measured with a reference interferometer calibrated at the Instituto de óptica del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (IO-CSIC). This calibration method has been applied to calibrate various types of Bragg gratings interrogators: static and dynamic. The uncertainty in the absolute calibration of the interrogators is ±88 pm, which is mainly due to the spectral width of the filter that simulates the Bragg Grating. However, for a relative calibration the uncertainty is ±3 pm, dominated by the uncertainty in the calibration of the reference interferometer. © Sociedad Española de Óptica.Al  Ministerio  de  Educación  y  Ciencia  proyecto  TEC2009‐14423‐C02‐00,  a  la  Comunidad  Autónoma  de  Madrid  a  través  del  proyecto  FACTOTEM2  (S2009/ESP‐1781),  al  Ministerio  de  Fomento  por  los  proyectos  MIFFO  (FOM‐ 77/07) e IZONE (FOM‐38/08).Peer Reviewe
