Previous studies have identified water meter inaccuracy at low flows in mechanical metering technologies; however, little has been done to measure the inaccuracy of electronic metering technologies at low flows. This study confirms previous studies on mechanical meter accuracy and includes electronic meter accuracy data from results of testing conducted at the Utah Water Research Laboratory. By comparing the new technologies to the commonly used mechanical metering technologies over a wide range of flows, this analysis is intended as a guide to assist meter users in choosing the meter type to accommodate their needs.
