Hyperprolactinemia is a common endocrine disorder involving hypothalamic-pituitary axis. Prolactin (PRL) secretion is stimulated by dopamine antagonism and thyroid-releasing hormone. Hyperprolactinemia has been reported in subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) but results are markedly variable and studies on SCH are very few. The objective of this study was to find out prevalence of hyperprolactinema in newly diagnosed subclinical hypothyroid patients.
