The role of leukotriene receptor antagonist is well known in the management of chronic asthma, but their efficacy in acute exacerbation of asthma is unknown. The present study was done to evaluate the clinical efficacy of oral montelukast as an add on therapy to the usual standard therapy of acute attack of bronchial asthma.
