Public Infrastructure projects are generally believedto be complex and success rates of these projects are reported asfar from satisfactory. Advances in project management techniquesover the yearsdoes not effectively address the success gap, thesubjective nature of what constitutes project success adds more tothe uncertainty. Public projects utilize public funds and hence hasthe accountability towards public opinion and are expected togenerate positive public appeal from the users. This paper intendsto discover the opinion of project users inThiruvananthapuramcity on success criteria for infrastructureprojects and to conduct a comparative analysis for transport andwater sector projects as well as comparison of user and projectprofessional viewpoints on project success for both these sectors
