Possibilities of small hydro power stations establishment on small rivers have been considered with taking into account their economic and social/ecological advantages, safety and a number of factors that makes their operation more difficult. The Conceptual Scheme of Small Hydro Power Industry Development by the author is presented; its blocks contain measures and recommendations required in the process of designing and construction of small hydro power stations. Main tasks concerning small hydro power stations establishment have been stated.
