— This study evaluates the fulfillment of electrical installation norms with respect to neutral and ground connection settings of load centers in low-voltage electrical installations. The study was carried out in load centers of buildings located in the municipalities of Portoviejo, Chone, Calceta and Tosagua in the province of Manabí. We evaluated the fulfillment of the Código Eléctrico Nacional Ecuatoriano 2001 (Ecuadorian Electrical Code) and the Normas Ecuatorianas de Construcción (Ecuadorian Construction Norms), Chapter 15, Electromechanical Installations 2011. We concluded that there is a lack of fulfillment in the standards we evaluated, however we observed the fulfillment of some criteria, which do not provide safety to people using the electrical installations.
