A mesenteric traction syndrome (MTS) is elicited by prostacyclin (PGI 2 )-induced vasodilation and identified by facial flushing, tachycardia, and hypotension during abdominal surgery. We evaluated whether thoracic epidural anesthesia (TEA) influences the incidence of MTS.
