With the development of imaging technology, an increasing number of subcentimeter hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has been detected. How to manage these lesions remains controversial and lacks evidence. We aimed to explore whether timely treating subcentimeter HCC is necessary considering the risks of false-positives and treatment failure.
