Consensus exists about the role of functional diversity, but studies with empirical data sets are scarce. The handling of large data sets has been limited because of the lack of tools to analyze functional diversity and their components in an easy and friendly way. We have developed user‐friendly menu‐driven software to estimate and analyze functional diversity indices to facilitate good statistical practice by ecologists. Estimation of taxonomic biodiversity and functional diversity indices within the same analytic environment allows study of the relationship among estimated indices as well as their dependencies with other biotic and/or abiotic factors.
