Abstract A TN‐LCD fabricated by doping Ag nanoparticles, which protected with NLC molecules, 5CB, exhibits frequency modulation response to driving voltage waveform and particularly shows fast response to the high frequency component of the applied voltage with the response times of several ms and 550μs. Response characteristics of FM‐TN‐LCD in frequency switching and to square voltage waveforms are demonstrated and the mechanism is discussed through their dielectric properties.
