In this theoretical applicative plaidoyer, the author puts culture and tourism into mutual relation, i. e. culture in tourism and tourism in culture.Pointing out the lack of relevenl literature in this area, and analysing the fact that there is no expected merge of tourism and culture, the author warns and analysis at the same time many negative functions in that relation.This paper, amongst other things concludes that examples of Yugoslav tourism are -full- of negative and unfavourable elements, especially when the inter-disciplinary aspects of tourism are analysed, which greatly diminishes the overall positive effects of this modern social and economic phenomenon.The means to overcome these relations and the situation, are various. One of the most, important is education and especially the education system via new humanistic, didactic model of studies, multi-disciplinary and inter-faculty organisation.When dealing with the development of receptive and emitive tourist culture, these questions take on a much wider sphere of education and sensible activities, with the aim of getting planned economical effects, on the one side, and to preserve and develop the original creative and cultural artistic entities, on the other.
