The β type Ti-14Mn-(0-12 wt.%)Zr alloy system showed promising results for biomedical applications. In this study, the investigation is extended to cover higher Zr-content in the alloy; namely, two compositions with 9Zr and 12Zr content are explored. These alloys were produced using an arc furnace, followed by forging at 900 °C and water quenching, and subsequent aging at 500 and 700 °C for 60 ks and water quenching. The microstructure examination was studied by an optical microscope and X-ray diffraction. The mechanical behavior was analyzed using hardness and compression tests. With the increase of Zr content, the β stability is slowly increased. The hardness and yield stress increase with the rise in Zr owing to the solid solution strengthening. The aging at 700 °C for 60 ks led to a dual structure and increased the hardness to 449 HV2 and YS to 1279 MPa for the Ti-14Mn-12Zr alloy.
