Bacteriol.84: 1–8. 1962.—Among various nucleotides excreted in the culture broth ofBrevibacterium liquefaciens sp. n., four uridine nucleotides containingN -acetylglucosamine were isolated. These were found to be uridine diphospho-N -acetylglucosamine and Park's compounds 1, 2, and 3. The significance of the appearance of these cell-wall precursors in the culture fluid ofB. liquefaciens is discussed.
