A gas-liquid chromatographic procedure was used to determine short-chain acids produced byPseudomonas diminuta andP. vesiculare after growth on Trypticase soy agar. Each of nine strains ofP. diminuta produced glutaric acid, whereas none of the strains ofP. vesiculare produced this acid.
