Purpose This lecture will focus on preoperative examination, IOP changes and postoperative considerations, identifying the patients at higher risk for developing glaucoma and selecting an appropriate and personalized approach. Conclusion Most refractive surgeries are performed between the 3th and the 5th decade of a patients’ life. The prevalence of glaucoma increases with age and the life duration expectancy increases with progress in medicine. Although myopia and increasing age are known risk factors for developing glaucoma, it is impossible to predict which patients undergoing refractive surgery will develop glaucoma later in their life.
