The following synopses, which have been prepared in conjunction with members of the Editorial Board, are presented to promote the link between anatomy and operative surgery. Older surgeons may remember a slender but dense text called ‘Anatomical Abstracts’ that was produced by the late Professor Howard H. Eddey.
