South American Blastomycosis and American Mucocutaneous Leishmaniasis

Summary The author reports two cases of coexisting South American blastomycosis and American mucocutaneous leishmaniasis, and comments on the difficulty in establishing an early diagnosis in such cases. Based on reports by other Brazilian investigators on the efficacy of amphotericin B in both diseases, this antibiotic was given to the first patient and led to a clinical cure.
