Colombia`s gold deposits have been considered part of a large fraction of the known gold mineralization in the Andes, with over 50 Moz of gold (production plus reserves and measured and indicates resources; Sillitoe, 2008). An important part of these deposits have been classified as Au-rich porphyry and epithermal andover the last years the big potential of this country for mineral exploration has been broadly recognized. For these reason, research focused on new mineral deposits is important in order to open the possibility of more areas for exploration and possibly purpose new guidelines for future exploration. In this study, microthermometric analysis was conducted over the Animas deposit in order to understand the ‘evolution of the fluids’ that produced the gold mineralization in the area.
