Generalization of the ZRD–SEARCH–MATCH program for powder diffraction analysis

Two major improvements in the ZRD – SEARCH – MATCH program [Frevel (1965). Anal. Chem . 37 , 471–482; Frevel, Adams & Ruhberg (1976). J. Appl. Cryst . 9 , 199–204] now permit (1) complete generalization of the minifile(s) of standards, including file creation and editing capabilities, and (2) operation inhouse on a dedicated microcomputer. The program is used to provide candidate phase matches for routine samples by executing the search automatically after data collection/reduction.
