The solid state reaction method has been imp lemented for the preparation of mu ltiferro ic Bi 1-x Nd x FeO 3  (x = 0.0 and 0.05) ceramics. The constituent oxides were mixed and calcined at 873 K and than sintered at 1123 K. The X-Ray Diffraction technique has been used to analyze the structure of prepared ceramics at roo m temperature (RT). Frequency and temperature dependant dielectricproperties have been measured. The DC conductivity of these compounds has also been measured fro m RT to 603K. The activation energies (E a ) are 1.84 eV and 2.02eV for pure and Nd doped compounds which has been calculated from the Arrhenius relation σ = σ ˳ exp (-E a /KT).
