Preface

The 2019 2nd International Conference of Green Buildings and Environmental Management (GBEM 2019) has been held on June 14-16, 2019 in Guiyang, China, which aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects related to green buildings and environmental management. This year, the GBEM 2019 is co-organized by Low Carbon Design Society of Hong Kong, The University of Auckland, New Zealand, the Qingdao Science and Technology Association and the Qingdao Society of Civil and Architectural Engineering. Prof. Hui-Mi Hsu (National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan) and Prof. Zakiah Ahmad (UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI MARA, Malayisa) have been invited as the keynote speakers. GBEM 2019 presents a collection of high quality research articles and presentations that address broad challenges on both theoretical and application aspects of green buildings. Colleagues will be invited to contribute original research articles as well as present the latest research outputs that will stimulate the continuing effort on the application of green buildings. In this edition, GBEM 2019 is providing a venue of high quality state-of-the-art research papers in the following areas of interest: 1. Green Buildings, Architectural Design and Engineering Technology 2. Energy Engineering and Energy Saving Technology 3. Material Sciences and Engineering 4. Resources, Ecology and Sustainable Development All submitted papers were reviewed by appropriately qualified experts in the field selected by the Conference Committee. After the tight selection procedure, good quality papers were accepted for oral presentation and publication in this proceeding. We hope that those volumes will not only provide the readers a broad overview of the latest advances but also provide the researchers a valuable summary and reference in this field. On behalf of the organizing committee and scientific committee of the GBEM 2019 we would like to express our gratitude to all the participants, presenters, technical reviewers, and all collaborative partners for their contributions to the conference. We would like also thank the contributing authors for submitting papers and for being very patient to revise them multiple times based on the recommendations of the assigned reviewers. As well, we would like to thank the technical committee members, who get the papers from the contributors being reviewed by suitable experts. We have received valuable feedbacks from all the participants, which will help us in organizing such conference in a better way in the coming future. Additionally, we place on record our sincere gratitude to the chairperson of each and every conference session, for decently conducting the oral presentation of the technical papers and coordinating the discussions among the participants. The discussions and deliberations during the sessions are sure to be valued by the participants.
