It is shown that, by taking into account the inhomogeneous sheath surrounding an antenna in a warm isotropic plasma, the HF input resistance may be increased by several orders of magnitude, for frequencies below the plasma frequency. This may serve to explain the “anomalous” high resistances observed in previous experiments.
