Conclusions: The UNITED consortium is a novel collaboration that aims to realize an in-depth depiction of the diseased brain. Preliminary results indicate that high-resolution analyses of the brain hold great value for understanding neurodegenerative diseases, and have the potential for translation into the clinic.
