O2‐04–04: Memantine for moderate and severe Alzheimer's disease: Systematic review and meta‐analysis of nine trials

using paired-samples t-test. Results: Significant improvement in apathy was noted in item-total, frequency, severity, of the NPI-A at 12 weeks. Caregiver distress and IADLs improved significantly. None of the patients dropped out of the study due to adverse effects. Conclusions: Methylphenidate was effective and well tolerated in these patients with DAT. Caregiver distress and functional status also improved with treatment.
