Surface properties of the dodecyl isothiouronium cationic surfactant in a mixed solvent of water and polyethylene glycol of different molecular weights varied from ethylene glycol to polyethylene glycol‐600 were determined using surface tension and conductivity measurements. The results showed an increase in the surface properties including critical micelle concentration, effectiveness and efficiency, compared to the surfactant in pure water as the solvent. The interaction between the cationic surfactant and the glycols was described and the molecular weight of the different glycols was rationalized.
