Abstract The use of two fourth degree velocity profiles in the integration of boundary layer equations by Kármán‐Pohlhausen 's method for the inlet length of a straight channel has been studied and for both profiles, the inlet length, the velocity profiles in the inlet length and the pressure drop upto any point in the channel have been obtained.
