The orthometallated complex formulated as Rh{P(OPh) 3 } 3 {P(OC 6 H 4 )(OPh) 2 } ( 1 ) was obtained in the reaction between [Rh(OCH 3 )(cod)] 2 and P(OPh) 3 . Based on the 31 PNMR and UV‐VIS results the alternative structure of that compound — Rh{P(OPh) 3 } 3 {P(O)(OPh) 2 } ( 2 ) — was discussed. Both — the formation process of that compound and its reactivity allow to regard it as the orthometallated complex ( 1 ).
